Rob started in the industry at Burleigh Marine as a design engineer in the early 1980’s, Burleigh later became part of Trellex through its parent company Svedala of Sweden. In 1990 Rob set up and ran Svedala’s sales and design office for their Asian market based in Kuala Lumpur. On returning to Europe in 1994, Rob became one of the founding partners in Fentek and as director of engineering and helped steer it to becoming the most recognisable names in the industry. Trelleborg recognised this and acquired Fentek outright in 2001, where Rob remained as their technical director until leaving to form Quayquip together with Richard Jowitt and others in 2009. At the beginning of 2017 Rob moved on again and established Ship2Shore and now focuses his time on R&D and the markets of the UK and Ireland.

Richard commenced his work in the mid 1990’s as a sales and contract manager for Fentek. From 2008, together with Rob Gabbitas he was one of the founders of QuayQuip where he became focussed on serving the USA, Canada and the Caribbean. This work continues with Ship2Shore where Richard works extensively with our partners to develop business throughout north America continent.
